Comhaltas Education Mission Statement
Comhaltas educational programmes are here to educate, develop and inspire students to achieve their full musical potential and provide them with the skills for lifelong enjoyment of music, song and dance. Students explore the realms of expression, imagination, and creativity, resulting in new knowledge. The mission of Comhaltas is to advance music education and help guarantee every individual the opportunity to learn.
Comhaltas Education Programme 2030
Comhaltas offers a multitude of educational opportunities and programmes weekly, fostering cultural excellence both within and outside the formal education sector. These initiatives not only enhance lifelong learning but also contribute to the skill development of our students and society at large. With a remarkable educational legacy spanning over 70 years, Comhaltas is unparalleled globally. The recently unveiled Comhaltas Prospectus 2030 outlines a diverse array of ongoing programme developments. Our organisation nurtures a range of talents, from students to educators, adjudicators, examiners, performers, producers, and academics. Included in the Comhaltas Prospectus 2030 are interactive programmes tailored for pre-school, primary, and secondary school classrooms. Our ongoing development efforts also aim to achieve accreditation through the development of two Post Leaving Certificate courses; one in Irish Music Education and another in Irish Music Performance. These courses will offer students opportunities to pursue higher education in music, integrating our existing practical exam system (SCT) and teaching diploma (TTCT).
